How To Empower Yourself With What You Can Control
We don’t have control over many things. We don’t have control over other people and their responses. We don’t have control over anything but our own mind/body/spirit.
That’s why I want to focus on the important elements of your mind and your energy that can allow you to feel empowerment in this moment. No matter how much lack of control you may be feeling right now, you can always come back to your own mindset and your own energy to make conscious decisions.
Now, if you feel like you’re struggling with all of the thoughts you’re having right now and how your energy is feeling right now, then that’s okay. All you need to do is recognize those thoughts and feelings and replace them with something better. Something that serves you more in what will lift you up right now. Something that will allow you to carry on and continue in a positive way. Or something that will just release the funk that you may have been in and bring in some light.
Reframing and shifting can be as simple as just giving yourself a new thought to think. So instead of thinking about the uncertainty of the future right now, you can reframe it to think about how you are living more in the present moment that you ever have before. Instead of being fearful that you may get sick, you can reframe it to be grateful that you have a body that works and allows you to do the things you want to do today. Even if that just means that you can go for a walk, do some yoga in your home, or that you’re able to physically take care of your kids today. Shift to being grateful for that.
The point is that you do have control over your mind and your energy. Having the ability to reframe those things and replace them if even for a moment will give you more empowerment and choice. And from there, it’s just a matter of repeating the process as much as you need in order to regain a sense of confidence and awareness.
