Saying No And Feeling Good About It
We always have a choice about where we put our time and energy. Even though it may not feel like it at times, we get to decide where we set our boundaries and what we choose to say yes and no to doing. But most of the time, we get distracted by expectations and judgments that we either put on ourselves or that we take on from other people. So we end up putting our energy into the "should do's" rather than the "excited to do's" and we get lost in the cycle of doing.
Yet, when you look at what you truly believe in, what you value at your core, the things you really want to be prioritizing, what feeds your soul, and the person you honestly want to become, then those are the things that should be setting the standard of what you commit to and what you let go of. Those are the things that should be framing your days and determining how you fill up your plate. Not what others expect of you, and certainly not what you think you've gotta work on because of fear, stress, or anxiety that's coming up.
Those emotions are the ones that are keeping you stuck in the never-ending cycle of being busy. But they're not the ones that will allow you to actually become the future self that you wanna be.
So let's start consciously choosing to say "no" to anything that doesn't fit the person you truly want to be and "yes" to proactively becoming who you already are capable of being. Your most fulfilled self is waiting for you to say "yes" to the right things. It's time to answer.
